Federal Government of Nigeria plans to begin emergency repairs of National Stadium bound of Eko Bridge from Costain to Alaka.
During the period of repair, the bridge will be partially close from Friday 4th June, to Friday 13th August, 2021.
This is according to the statement from Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde.
Honourable Commissioner says the repair is important to complete the rehabilitation works on the opposite side in which the federal government commenced work earlier in.
Alternative routes for Motorist during Eko Bridge Closure
Government have provide alternative roads for car owners to manage traffic during the period of repairs.
- Traffic from Apongbon to Alaka, Stadium, Inner Surulere or Ikorodu Road will divert to Eko Bridge to access Costain Roundabout to Iponri through Alaka and Funsho Williams Avenue.
- Also, cars from Eko Bridge will need to 0ass thelrougj Costain Roundabout to Abebe Village (by Nigerian Breweries Plc) through Eric Moore to Bode Thomas to Adeniran Ogunsanya, to access Shitta Roundabout by Stadium under bridge to Funsho Williams Avenue to Dorman-Long Bridge and Fadeyi-Ikorodu Road.
- Cars have access to Apongbon through CMS Outer Marina Road to connect Ebute Metta Ikorodu Road to their destination.
- Apongbon through CMS to Outer Marina to Adeniji Adele, Third Mainland Bridge, Adekunle to Herbert Macaulay Way, Jibowu and Ikorodu road will also be available.
Government pleads with motorists to bear with the repairs and use these diversion routes so as to ease traffic and ensure stress-free movement for everyone in Lagos state.
Government also added that traffic directions and road signals to reduce any inconveniences people will experience as the repair work continues.
