Sugar scrub

The use of Sugar in making scrubs is a very good in that sugar not only exfoliates your skin but also moisturize your skin too.

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of coconut oil
  • 3 – 4 drops of essential oils ( tea tree oil)
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • A mixing bowl
  • Storage jar

Procedure

  1. Get your mixing bowl in place. Add the sugar and coconut oil and mix properly.
  2. Add the essential oil and honey into the mixture. Mix all properly till you have an even consistency.
  3. Pour into your storage jar and your sugar scrub is ready for use.

Salt body scrub

Salt scrub is best for those with very oily skin as it helps in absorbing the excess oil away from the skin. It opens up all pores that have been clogged up allowing the skin to breathe.

Also salt scrub has some therapeutic and soothing effect on the skin. Salt scrub also helps with detoxification of harmful toxins away from the body.

This includes the combination of both sugar and salt together. With this type of scrub it has the properties of both the sugar and salt scrub together.

It is best for normal and combination skin types. This scrub opens up all your clogged pores.

Few weeks ago we discussed about the benefits of going to the beach. One of the benefits is that the beach sand is great for body exfoliation.

The gentle use of beach sand as an exfoliant can be really great for your skin too. It is very effective in helping with the fading away of scars and stretch marks too.

Materials

  • 1 cup of beach sand
  • 1 cup of coconut oil
  • 3 – 4 drops of essential oils ( tea tree oil)
  • A mixing bowl
  • Storage jar

Procedure

  1. Combine ingredients together into a mixing bowl.
  2. Mix properly and store in your storage jar for use.

How to use the body scrub for an effective result.

If you want to have an effective result, there should be a proper understanding on how the scrub should be used.

  • It should be noted that scrubs are not to be used every day as it might cause skin irritation. It is ideal to use your scrub twice or at least once every week.
  • For a more better result your body should be soaked with lukewarm water. It will make the dead skin cells softer and more easier to remove.
  • Work your body scrub in a circular motion for a much effective result.
  • Do not overdo it, go gently so as not to irritate your skin.
  • After scrubbing wash of gently and pat dry using a towel. Ensure you do not scrub your skin further.
  • Apply your favorite oil or body lotion to your skin while your skin is still damp. This will enable it absorb better and much faster into the epidermis layer.
