Chinese rice is an irresistably delicious rice recipe which is a family of fried rice dishes popularly eaten in China and around the world. It’s quick and easy to make and customizable with any of your favorite mix-ins.
Let’s get started…
- Grated carrots
- Green Pepper
- 1 Chopped onions
For The Sauce;
- Vegetable oil
- 1 Teaspoon of sesame oil(Use vegetable oil if you can’t source sesame oil)
- 1 Tablespoon Minced Ginger
- 1 Tablespoon Minced Garlic
- 1 Teaspoon Brown/White SugarBeef
- Green pepper
- Red pepper
For the Chinese rice;
Boil your rice until you get a very nice fluffy texture.
Heat 2 table spoon of butter in a large skillet. Let the butter melt as the skillet heat up.
Pour in the egg mixture into the hot oil. When the egg is a bit solid at the bottom of the mixture, stir the eggs around until it’s done.
Heat your skillet or pan. Add the vegetable oil. After 10 seconds, add the vegetables; grated carrots, green pepper and onions.
Leave the vegetables to get brown for about 2 minutes, add the egg and rice, then stir the mixture.
Add 1/2 of soy sauce and mix up everything until the rice goes from white to brown colour.
A wok is the best choice for cooking a Chinese rice, since it’s curved shape and high sides enable food to be cooked more evenly.
For the sauce;
To enhance the taste of your sauce, you should consider marinating your beef for as long as possible by refriginating it or marinating it overnight using Seasonings, Garlic Powder and Corn Starch/flour.
Mix the Oyster sauce, Soy sause, Cooking wine, Sesame oil, Black pepper, Sugar and set aside.
Pour oil in a square pan, heat for 1 to 2 minutes till it’s hot then add in the minced ginger and garlic and sauté it for a minute.
Add the marinated beef and stir fry for 2-3 minutes.
Remove the beef from the pan, discard the oil in the pan, add another 2 tablespoons of oil, when its hot, add the onions into the pan, sauté for 2 minutes, then add the vegetables; green pepper, carrot and red pepper and sauté for 2 minutes.
Now add the mixed sauce, stir fry lightly for 1 minute and leave to simmer.
Served with Chinese rice.
All the vegetables and meat should be diced or shredded.
