DCP: Tunji Disu replace Super Cop Abba Kyari

Inspector General of Police Usman Alkali Baba announced Tunji Disu as the new Deputy Commissioner of Police and as the new head of police Intelligence Response Team on Monday night.
This came after the suspension of Abba Kyari over alleged bribery by Hushpuppi.
The suspension of Kyari was premised after US Department of Justice involved him in a fraud case in which Hushpuppi claimed to pay bribe to arrest one of his accomplice.
Hushpuppi had alleged that he bribed Kyari to arrest and jail “one of his rivals in Nigeria after a dispute over a $1.1 million scam on Qatari business people”.
But Kyari denied any wrongdoing, saying he never collected money from Hushpuppi.
However, Police spokesperson, Frank Mba said Disu’s appointment is to fill the leadership vacuum within the IRT and refocus the unit for better service delivery.
