However, it’s not enough keeping the danger away as Pulisic reacts first on the loose ball and puts it away.

Chelsea controlled the game in the first 30 minutes of the play until a red card for Thiago Silva in the 29th minute.

Silva’s red card came as a result of a second yellow after a reckless challenge on West Brom’s Okay Yokuslu.

Pereira scoring in the 45+2’ and 45+4’ respectively to give the visitors a lead into half time by 1-2.

POST MATCH PRESS CONFERENCE

Chelsea have gone 14 games unbeaten under the German head coach, Thomas Tuchel winning 10 and drawing four.

This has seen them put top four back in their hands whilst also remaining in the Champions League and FA Cup.

However, the Blues 14 streak winning was stopped by Sam Allardyce’s West Bromwich Albion with a 2-5 victory over Chelsea.

In a post match conference with Tuchel, he had this to say:

“After 15 matches we can’t lose our head and take away what we’ve done… we had completely different plans how to start this match day but we have to accept it now.

“It’s important to deal with it together. If we look at this game in four weeks maybe we look at it was a wake-up call.”

Chelsea boss, Tuchel during Chelsea defeat to West Brom

The Chelsea boss explained that he did not have the highest expectations because players are just returning from International break.

“Everything was rusty which I was surprised with after two days of training. But I could except it, I didn’t have the highest expectations because it was after the international break, travelling and more,” he said.

However, Tuchel didn’t feel a risk of having reduced to 10-man on the pitch as they were 1-0 lead at that time.

He continued in his conference, “but to give a red card away like this, straight after the goal, maybe we didn’t feel the risk.

“… we didn’t adapt to going one-man down. Our defending wasn’t at the level we want it to be and the tactical choices for that are my responsibility. It’s hard to accept but there’s not other solution.

“Eleven against eleven it was not our best game but it was ok and on the counter attacks we had chances.

“Everything that went wrong, went wrong, every shot from them was a goal. I didn’t see it coming. We have to take responsibility, shake it off and digest it.”
