FOODS TO AVOID WHEN TRYING TO CONCEIVE
This is sure a waiting game as you aren’t sure whether the test will turn out positive. There are some things you can do to boost your chances of getting pregnant each month, like tracking your cycle, taking prenatal vitamins, and eating healthy.
It should also be noted that there are foods that should be avoided when trying to get pregnant. It is important to know the right proportion of nutrients and dietary schedule to be followed for good health.
Several studies and research programmes have proved that women do not consume nutritious food, especially those that increase their chances of conception.
1. SOFT DRINK:

It is a must to stay away from high -sugar drinks when trying to conceive. Soft drinks have high levels of preservatives, fructose and artificial flavoring which does no good for the body.
Drinking one or more sugar – sweetened soft drinks, energy drinks or sodas daily has shown to lead to lower fertility for men and women. Soft drinks can cause increased insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome and weight gain.
According to Panth et al (2018), “For men, a high intake of sugar and refined carbs has been linked to lower semen quality and increased infertility.”
2. ALCOHOL:

Alcohol can reduce both female and male fertility and conceiving too. For males, excessive drinking can lead to lower sex drive, impotence, poor sexual performance and it can also impact the quality of their sperm.
I am not certain how much alcohol is safe to drink when trying to conceive, so it’s recommended to avoid drinking altogether to make your chances as a good as possible!
3. JUNK FOODS:

Yes! Say goodbye to junk foods like cakes, pastries, candies, fast food, and biscuits. Research has shown that junk foods are linked to infertility in women. It

Avoidance of peas is a necessity if you want to conceive. This is because peas contain certain chemicals that can obstruct the sperm from fertilizing an egg and tend to act as a natural contraceptive.
5. FISH:

Fishes with high levels of mercury are very harmful to the body. Mercury is an element with strong impacts on both male and female fertility and conception.
Mercury can affect the shape, movement, quantity and quality of sperm. It can influence the levels and function of estrogen and fertility in women and it can also lead to conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome, premenstrual syndrome, premature menopause and endometriosis.
6. HALF COOKED EGG:

Half cooked eggs open the body to the chance of being infected with the salmonella virus that can directly affect the chance of letting the pregnancy continue. Also, most eggs contain antibiotics that are injected into animals.
7. CHEESE:

It is necessary to avoid the kind of cheese made from unpasteurized milk, because they have chances of bacteria being present in them.
