Osteoporosis causes bones to become weak and brittle — so brittle that a fall or even mild stresses such as bending over or coughing can cause a fracture. Osteoporosis-related fractures most commonly occur in the hip, wrist or spine.


Back pain, caused by a fractured or collapsed vertebra
Loss of height over time
A stooped posture
A bone that breaks much more easily than expected


The following people are at risk of weak bone and bone break:

  1. Anybody above 35,man or woman. This is the age that bone begins to get weaker in everybody
  2. Women that have finished menstruation (menopause), usually 50 & above
  3. Elderly men above 60
  4. People that don’t exercise
  5. people that are tall & slim

Form habit of taking 1000mg of calcium daily as from age of 19 years even before any of the above age comes
Expose yourself to sun for 30 minutes daily between 11 and 3pm to get Vitamin D
Exercise 30 minutes regularly everyday
