While the neck is fixed to the body of the guitar and, along with it, there are a series of vertical threads called frets. They divide the fretboard into frets that produce different musical notes and chords.

The guitar body, also known as a sounding board, has an opening in its centre called the mouth. The thinner the string, the sharper the sound. These strings are usually made of nylon, but there is a steel variation. Usually, the lowest string is in the upper part of the neck and the highest is in the lower part.
