There are some musical instruments that everyone knows, whether you are a musician or just a curious musician. And for sure, at some point in your life, you have already had contact with one of them.

1. Guitar
The guitar is one of the best-known musical instruments in the world. It is used in any musical style and its origin dates back to 2000 BC. The guitar is composed of three main parts: the head, the neck, and the body.
The head is also called the hand. It is fixed at the end of the arm and, on each side of the head, are pieces called pegs. These are the pieces in which the strings are joined. Usually, there are six and each one of them has its peg.
While the neck is fixed to the body of the guitar and, along with it, there are a series of vertical threads called frets. They divide the fretboard into frets that produce different musical notes and chords.
The guitar body, also known as a sounding board, has an opening in its centre called the mouth. The thinner the string, the sharper the sound. These strings are usually made of nylon, but there is a steel variation. Usually, the lowest string is in the upper part of the neck and the highest is in the lower part.

2. Violin
A musical instrument that represents classical and orchestral music to the general public is the violin. But what most people don’t know is that there are many different types of violins. They vary in size and setup.
The violin is the sharpest of the rubbed string instruments. Its tone corresponds to the soprano of the human voice. It has four strings: E, A, D, and G. The first violins are produced in Italy between the end of the 16th century and early 17th century.
Its shape remained unchanged for four hundred years. But from the 19th century onwards, only the thickness of the strings, the use of a higher bridge, and a more inclined neck changed.
The shape of the bow consolidated in the way we know it today, as this musical instrument previously had a concave shape. Now, the bow has a convex curvature, which allows it to withstand greater tension from the manes.

3. Drums
Drums are a set of percussion musical instruments that is composed of different drums and cymbals. The battery is a highly customizable instrument, as each person can assemble it to meet their needs.
Even so, we can divide it into two categories: acoustics and electronics. Its components have different origins and started separately. Drums have been around since the Neolithic period, back in Prehistory. It is a very versatile musical instrument used in all music genres.

4. Keyboard
The keyboard is a musical instrument that can be played in various ways. Each key simulates a sound according to the effect chosen, so it is considered electronic equipment.
Currently, there are varieties of keyboard models on the market. But their shape is always rectangular and with a variable number of keys.
Its sound is generated by purely electronic means, reproducing sound samples from other instruments stored in its memory. In this way, he can produce diversified sounds, such as string instruments or even percussion.
The keyboard is one of the modern electronic instruments. It was created in the first decades of the 20th century and became extremely popular in the 50s. Until today, they are essential for the performance of various genres of music, such as jazz, blues, rock, and pop.
