With the uprise in the COVID-19 pandemic, the need to always clean and disinfect your surface with a surface cleaning agent is needed. Table surfaces are one of the easiest places where germs can be found. Rather than going to buy these expensive surface cleaning agents why not try making one yourself.

These easy DIY surface cleaning agents can be made from things around you that are not so expensive. Also, they are very easy to make and will save you from spending a lot of money buying them from stores.

Below are two DIY recipes you can choose from to try out yourself at home. The all-purpose cleaner and the glass cleaner.

All purpose cleaner

Materials needed

  • White vinegar
  • Lemon peel
  • Essential oil (lavender or basil. This is optional)
  • Lemon peel
  • Glass container
  • Spray bottle
  • Pot
  • Stove
  • Water

Steps

  1. Pour 300ml of vinegar into your pot and boil on the stove for 20 mins.
  2. After boiling pour into a glass container and add the lemon peel to it. Allow cooling for a while. Put in the refrigerator for 24 hrs, this will allow the lemon peel to infuse with the vinegar.
  3. Add about 150ml of water into the vinegar to dilute the mixture. Pour about 2-3 drops of essential oils into the mixture.
  4. Shake properly and keep aside for a week.
  5. After a week strain out the lemon peels and pour the mixture out into your spray bottle.
  6. This can be used in cleaning the kitchen counters, tables, and so on.

Glass surface cleaner

Materials needed

  • Alcohol
  • White vinegar
  • Spray bottle
  • Water
  • Funnel
  • Essential oil of any kind

Steps

  1. Pour about 300ml of alcohol into your spray bottle using your Funnel.
  2. Add about 100ml of white vinegar to it.
  3. Add 2-3 drops of your lavender essential oil to it (Note- this is optional)
  4. Pour about 100ml of water into it
  5. Shake and mix properly and your glass surface cleaning spray is ready
