Martin Oedegaard First Arsenal Goal with a Ferocious Strike.

The UEFA EUROPA league round of 16 competition kicked of March 11, 2021 which saw two London teams win their first leg of the matches.

Arsenal and Tottenham win their first leg of the competition round of 16 by a comfortable margin which puts them one foot ahead in the quarter finals stage.

Olympiacos lost at home on the turf  Karaiskaki Stadium away to the Gunners by 1-3. Arsenal’s Martin Oedegaard opened the scoring at the 34th minute with a ferocious strike until a second half parity restoration from Youssef El Arabi from Olympiacos who finds the back of the net from outside the box at the 58th  minute bringing the score level back at 1-1.

Restoration ruled out by Gabriel’s fantastic headed goal for the gunners at the 80th minute after a fine assist from Willian.

Olympiacos hopes of equalizing eventually damped with an 85th minute goal from Arsenal’s midfield player Mohammed Elneny. Hence,  giving the English side 3 away goals.


Tottenham Hotspur on the other hand wins by 2 goals to nil defeating Dinamo Zagreb of the Croatian first football league at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

A brace from the English forward, Harry Kane was enough to secure a victory at home to see Jose Mourinho’s Spurs team triumph the night.

The English forward netted the first goal at the 25th minute with an assist from Eric Lamela.

After a poor play by Kevin Theophile-Catherine of Dinamo Zagreb as his weak attempt to clear the ball puts his side under pressure which Kane capitalizes on and punishes them for it by scoring the 2nd goal of the night.

However, Manchester United were held by a goal draw of 1-1 against the 2nd best team on the league table of Italian Seria Á at the Old Trafford.

A goal in the 12th minute of the first half by Franck Kessie was chucked off as NO Goal! by VAR (Video Assistant Referee) after reviewing the situation, the referee announces that the goal for AC Milan is revoked due to a previously committed foul.

Ole Gunner Solksjaer’s Manchester United side drew the first blood with a goal from the Ivorian young international player, Amad Diallo, who heads the ball into the back of the net at the 2nd half of the play (50th minute) with the Portuguese international and play maker Bruno Fernandes providing the assist.

“Diallo sets new Manchester United record with AC Milan goal while joining Rashford, Greenwood & Best as club’s youngest European scorers” (goal.com).

A late goal coming from Simon Kjaer of AC Milan heads the ball home! Important away goal to Stefano Pioli’s side at the  92nd minutes with an assist from Rade Krunic for the goal.
